Parking in Jammu city

Sir,
It has been observed and worked out at different quarters that with the increasing trend of vehicular traffic in our Jammu city, parking has been the major issue to be accommodated. It has become a routine matter and even oftenly noticed that not even a single road or lane is without vehicles parked on it at random reducing the actual carriage width for movement of routine traffic.
To whome blame; violators or the system taking care of the issue. As far as violators are concerned, two types of people are involved; one is those who don’t care for the others and park their vehicle as per their own convenience, secondly is those who don’t want to violate but do this kind of act under compulsion. If we talk of the system, no doubt efforts are always made to decongest the city in terms of parking and providing more possible parking spaces.
Besides, a number of parking sites have been created and which are in functional state also, one multilevel parking has also been proposed at general bus stand, even then the problem will continue.
It is also a fact that 100% addressal of the issue can not be made as the demand goes on increasing day by day. My basic idea to write all this is to make the utilization of available unutilized spaces within the city for parking e.g; one third width of approach  link to SMGS hospital from Indra chowk is put under fence which is a hazardous thing for the users creating a shabby scene also, can be used for parking of at least two wheelers and will accommodate more than 100 no. two wheelers. Likewise small spaces / situations where we can say wrong parkings are made can be used as authorized paid parking which will provide a little relief to the citizens and at the same time maintenance charges will be met from these spaces alone.
It is also a fact that concerned authorities are always working on different projects to address the issue of parking. Besides, it is only my suggestion to the authorities to please look into the matter and take appropriate steps if possible to conduct a survey for identification of available small unutilized patches / spaces and prepare a scheme for the same to meet the increasing demand of parking in Jammu city.
Yours etc…
