Omar denounces civilian killings

JAMMU, Nov 17: National Conference vice president and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today strongly denounced the killing of two civilians including a Class XI student by the militants in the Kashmir valley.
“The cold blooded murder of an 11th standard student by the Hizbul Mujahideen terror outfit is deeply disturbing. There can be no justification for this and should force those who sympathize with these outfits to question how these murders make Kashmir a better, freer place,’’ Omar tweeted. He was reacting to abduction and killing of Nadeem Manzoor, a Class-XI student by the militants at Niklora in Pulwama on Thursday night.
Omar also reacted to yet another civilian killing by the militants in Shopian today.
“Another dastardly killing of a young man, this time the terrorists slit his throat. This barbarism has no place in our society and no struggle, no matter how lofty the claims to justify it, can condone this inhuman behaviour,’’ he wrote on twitter.
