Old Janipur without water for a week

JAMMU, Nov 5: People of Chakki Wali Gali, ward number-34, Janipur are facing acute shortage of water for over a week. This was revealed by the residents of the area alleged in a meeting held here today.
They alleged that they are suffering with severe water shortage for over a week, and urged the authorities at the helm of affairs to do the needful.
“We have not taken bath for last many days and are bound to wear dirty clothes, as there is no water in our houses even to wash a handkerchief” they said.
They said whenever they approach the PHE officials in concerned pumping station, they says that there is some snag in pumping motor, but even after one week, they have failed to restore water supply.
They accused the PHE authorities of negligence and carelessness and appealed Chief Engineer, PHE to intervene personally to restore water supply in the area.
