NPP to intensify agitation for eviction of Rohingyas, B’deshis

JAMMU,  Apr 26:  Describing the Rohingyas and Bangladeshis’ illegal settlement in Jammu as a grave threat to the cultural, historical and religious identity of Dogras, an emergency meeting was held at Panthers Party headquarters here regarding their unlawful settlement in Jammu and its periphery.
The meeting was convened by  Harsh Dev Singh, chairman of the party in the presence of  Balwant Singh Mankotia, State President NPP,  Yash Paul Kundal, State president Young Panthers and other leaders whereby, it was unanimously decided that JKNPP shall take out a rally on April 28 in Jammu city for seeking their immediate deportation to their native countries. They declared that rally shall start from Press Club at 9:30 am and after passing through Raghunath Bazar and Purani Mandi, shall  culminate at Shalamar Chowk.
Addressing the party leaders, Harsh Dev said that Rohingyas who were persecuted and forced to leave Myanmar because of their involvement in the criminal and terror related activities, had been mysteriously allowed to enter Jammu directly all the way from their native country under a deep rooted conspiracy. He said that the State Government had admitted on the floor of the ‘House’ (Assembly)  that there were several thousands of Burmese and Bangladeshi immigrants who had been unlawfully settled in clusters along the outskirts of Jammu city and Samba and were being funded by several NGOs and Madrassas.
Describing the soaring population of Rohingyas as a potential threat to the demography of Jammu region, Singh maintained that these people living in the colonies encircling Jammu city had clandestinely managed to procure PRCs, Identity Cards, Ration Cards, water and electricity connections by conniving with the people sitting at the helm of the affairs which was alarming and needed immediate attention of the authorities concerned. He said that the criminal silence of the alliance and BJP in particular over the illegal settlement of foreign nationals vindicated the ominous intentions of the dispensation to reduce Dogras to minority.
Lambasting the incumbent Govt for its despicable apathy in addressing the grave issue,   Mankotia and  Kundal regretted that BJP leadership was merely issuing press statements for public and media consumption with all their jingoistic claims falling flat. They accused the BJP for bartering away the revered aspirations of the people of Jammu region for mere crumbs of power.
