NMC stresses for granting 20% interim relief to employees

JAMMU, Jan 29: Stressing on the need for granting 20% interim relief in favour of the employees and pensioners of the State Government, National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today appealed Chief Minister and Finance Minister to pay the same to its employees.
Addressing a well attended meet of workers here, NMC president, Subhash Shastri said since the State Government has decided to implement the recommendations of 7th Pay Commission from April 1, 2018 and there is no chance for payment of DA installment in favour of State Government employees and pensioners, Government should immediately pay interim relief to them and announcement in this regard should be made in the current budget session of the State legislature, so that confusion and uncertainty among them could come to end.
Shastri urged the CM Mehbooba Mufti and Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu for allotting separate wage head in each department so that 61000 daily rated workers get their monthly salary regularly till their regularization. This interim measure will go long way to address their financial problems, he added.
Other demands highlighted on the occasion were enhancing minimum wages of daily rated worker to Rs 350 per day, release of all pending dues of daily rated workers, remove all pay anomalies of clerical cadre of SRO 93, amending SRO 64, issuance of regularization order of 180 daily wagers working in the Rural Development Department, enhancing medical allowance to Rs 3000 per month, setting up of labour welfare board, total exemption of DA from income tax and strict implementation of CP Fund deduction scheme in all departments of the State Government.
