NHM employees call on Health Minister, assure to suspend strike

JAMMU, Mar 13: A delegation of National Health Mission (NHM) Employees, who are on strike for the past some days in support of their demands, met the Minister for Health & Medical Education, Bali Bhagat here today and discussed their issues with them.
Minister of State for Health & Medical Education, Asiea Naqash, Commissioner/ Secretary Health & Medical Education, Dr. M.K. Bhandari, Mission Director, NHM, Dr. Mohan Singh and Additional Secretary, K.S. Chib were also present on the occasion.
The Minister heard the delegation patiently and assured to examine their all genuine issues on merit which will be addressed within the legal framework. He said the Government was committed to the welfare of the employees and will take all necessary steps in this direction. He urged them to suspend their strike and resume their routine work immediately, saying that strike is not the solution of anything and all issues can be addressed with the dialogue and amicably.
Meanwhile, the Minister directed the Commissioner/ Secretary Health & Medical Education to frame a committee of senior officers which will examine all the issues of the NHM employees and make its recommendations. The Govern-ment will examine these recommendations sympathetically, the Minister assured.
The employees assured to call off the strike.
