KATRA, Mar 3: A two- day national conference on `Innovative Trends in Mechanical Engineering’ was inaugurated at SMVDU Katra by the Vice Chancellor Prof Sanjeev Jain.
The conference is being held in collaboration with Indian Institute of Industrial Engineering, Mumbai. .Commander Dr Bhaskar M Bhandarkar, Director General IIIE, Mumbai was the chief guest on the occasion.
The Vice Chancellor highlighted the role of innovation in present era and deliberated on technology incubation. Prof. V Verma, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, also spoke on the relevance of science and technology
Prof. Pundir from NITIE was guest of honour. The key note address was delivered by Prof R. Arvind Singh from BIT, Tamil Nadu and Prof S Jayalakshmi.
More than 50 papers are to be presented at the conference.
