JAMMU, Jan 1: The dead body of a missing old man was recovered today from a canal in Pounichak area of city outskirts.
“Identified as 73-year-old Romesh Bakshi son of Raghu Nath Bakshi, resident of Sari Rakhwalan (Pounichak), the old man had gone missing on December 12 and his missing complaint was registered on December 13 in Police Post Pounichak,” police sources said.
They said on suspicion of his drowning, a team of Police Post Pounichak today searched the canal and recovered body of the Old Man from the water body near Peer Baba. After postmortem, the body of the deceased was handed over to his family for last rites while inquest proceeding in this connection was initiated at Police Post Pounichak.
