JAMMU, Mar 10: The dead body of a man, who was missing since March 6, was today found from a canal in Simbal Camp area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, the deceased identified as Harbans Singh (55) son of Jai Singh, a resident of Simbal Camp, was missing since the evening of March 6. He said that family members searched him everywhere but when he was not traced out they registered a missing complaint in Police Station Miran Sahib on March 8.
“Today, some passersby noticed his dead body in a dry canal along Simbal Camp Link Road and informed the police, who reached the spot and shifted the partially rotten body to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where after completing all medico-legal formalities, it was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites”, the spokesman said adding police has registered a case in this connection and investigations were underway.
