JAMMU, May 13: The dead body of a missing man was recovered today from a canal at Jeevan Nagar in Satwari area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, a man identified as Manga Ram (45) son of Darshan Lal, a resident of Jeevan Nagar (Digiana), was missing since May 10 and the family members had got registered a missing complaint in this connection at police station Satwari.
“However, on the basis of suspicion that man might have drowned in the canal near his residence, the police got stopped the supply of water in the canal this morning and found the body of the deceased from the canal at Jeevan Nagar”, he said, adding after completing all medico-legal formalities the body of the deceased and was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites.
