JAMMU, Sept 24: A meeting of member secretaries (Chief Agriculture Officers of the State, district level implementing committee of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojna (PMKSY) along with representatives of horticulture, sericulture, floriculture departments was organized in the premises of Directorate Agriculture here today.
The meeting was convened by Mission Director, CSS, PMKSY, J&K A K Malhotra in presence of Director Agriculture, Kashmir, Showkat Beig.
In his address Malhotra said PMKSY launched in 2015-16 has immense significance for development of agriculture and horticulture sectors in the irrigated as well as in the un-irrigated areas of the State. The water being the key input requires most judicious use so that by the year 2020, the critical water requirement of each crop field is fulfilled through appropriate interventions.
He said the district Irrigation Plans have been finalized except Leh district which he hoped will also be approved soon.
Mr Malhotra gave a power point presentation also and urged the member secretaries to finalize one prioritized cluster or village where 50 percent allocations of funds are to be utilized as per directions of the Chief Secretary.
Mr Beigh and Chief Agriculture Officers of Kashmir Division discussed the AAP 2016-17 of Kashmir Division.
