JAMMU, Mar 28: Minister for Health and Medical Education, ARI and Trainings Ch Lal Singh today said that Government has approved Rs. 40 crore for construction of Hatli Morh-Gooni road including wayside crossing culverts in Basholi tehsil.
The Minister informed this while addressing a large gathering after launching Centrally sponsored scheme “Punarjagran”  at a function organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) in collaboration with Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India at Government Higher Secondary School, Hatli, here today.
District Development Commissioner Kathua Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, Ex-MLA Basohli Kanta Andotra, District Youth Coordination Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan Som Dutt besides other senior officer from Power Development Department, Public Health Engineering, Health Department, Rural Development, Education and Road and Buildings Departments were present on the occasion .
Ch Lal Singh said that with the completion of Hatli-Gooni road, the journey to Basholi town via Jandore, Worhote and Soula would be reduced to a large extent and provide better connectivity to the people .
While highlighting the importance of Punarjagran, an ambitious campaign to encourage and empower the youth for nation development, the Minister said that a proactive approach is the need of the hour and  all stakeholders especially youth   have an important role to foster and strengthen the socio-economic development. He exhorted the youth to come forward and help generate mass awareness about the national flagship programmes like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Jan Dhan Yojna etc and assume a lead role in bringing about socio political and cultural change in the society.
Highlighting the objective of Swachh Bharat Mission, Ch Lal Singh said community participation is vital for bringining about a change and making our surroundings better.
Responding to the demands of the people of Hatli, Jandore, Oath and Gooni , the Minister directed the PHE and PDD officers to ensure adequate drinking water and uninterrupted power supply to the people so that they do not face any inconvenience.
Regarding up-gradation of lanes and drains, he asked RDD to gear up their efforts and complete the projects with 15 days .
Earlier Zonal Director NYKS highlighted the objectives of Mass Awakening Campaign and other activities of NYKS.
