Srinagar, Jan 8: Days after 11 people were killed in tragedy near Sadna Top, residents from Karnah area in frontier district of Kupwara today protested here asking authorities to start work on a tunnel to ease connectivity of this area during winters.
They said the area remains disconnected for several months in winters, causing immense hardship to the people of the area.
Protesters shouted slogans against the State and Central Governments for ignoring their demand from last few years. The protestors were holding placards in their hands of recently killed persons from an avalanche.
Protesters said that the Government has only made fake promises to them in this regard. “Sadhana Pass has taken many lives including women and children. We request both the State and the Central Governments to fulfill our demands without any delay,” said a protestor.
