JAMMU, May 11: MP Jugal Kishore Sharma announced Rs 10 lakh for Dev Sathan Bua Datta Bral Biradri while MLA Akhnoor Rajiv Sharma announced Rs three lakh for the same out of their MP LAD and CDF respectively during a function held at Dev Sathan on Wednesday.
Jugal Kishore Sharma was the chief guest in the function while Rajiv Sharma was guest of honour. Former Minister and vice president, Congress Sham Lal Sharma, chairman Team Jammu, Zorawar Singh Jamwal and Kewal Krishan Shastri were the special guests on the occasion.
In his address Jugal Kishore Sharma announced Rs 10 lakh out of MP LAD Fund for the development of Devasthan. He said people must not forget such sacred places as they are an inspiration for us and link to our past, rich culture and traditions maintained for centuries together.
He congratulated the Committee and Biradri members of making Devstahan one of the beautiful places of the belt.
MLA Rajiv Sharma who also announced Rs three lakh from his CDF for the Devasthan assured the gathering of all possible assistance for up-gradation of ancient temple. He complimented the Bral community for launching the Swachh Bharat Mission in the area which was initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and asked the gathering to make others also aware of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan so that it reaches nook and corner of the State.
Addressing the meeting former Minister Sham Lal Sharma recalled the purpose of holding such functions. He said through these functions people interact with each other and give a message of belongingness irrespective of their social status.
He said such a bonding must be taken to other communities as well through which one can hope for better and positive society.
Zorawar Singh Jamwal appealed the youth of Bral Community to come forward and join Team Jammu in its mission to wipe out drug mafia from Jammu province.
