JU employees continue token strike over demands

JAMMU, Mar 16: Continuing their token strike for the 14th consecutive days, the non-teaching and non-gazetted employees of the Jammu University today suspended their work and held a strong protest demonstration besides taking out a march on the campus.
The agitating employees warned the University authorities to maintain sanctity of the agreement arrived at with both the Unions and speed up the early disposal of their demands in the interest of the students in particular and the University in general.
During the protest demonstration, the leaders of JU Non-Teaching Employees Union and Non-Gazetted Employees Union contested the claims of JU authorities over their demands and clarified that their major demands were  still lying pending  and only assurance were  being given time and again .
The demonstration was addressed by Pawan Singh Bhau, Vijay Kumar, Sham Sharma, Sanjeev Chadha, Vikas Langer, Abhinav Sharma, Banarasi Lal, Vidya Lal, Raj Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Padam Shri Padamani, Niranjan Singh Charak, Kewal Kumar, Sunita Amla, Jarnail Singh, Jasjeet Singh and Raghubir Singh Bandral and others.
They also appealed the Chancellor and Pro-Chancellor to personally intervene for resolution of their demands.
