JMC conducts drive against illegal constructions, encroachments

JAMMU, Dec 3: Continuing the drive against the illegal constructions and encroachments Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) undertook a day long extensive drive in the different parts of Jammu city.
During the drive two numbers of shops which were being raised unauthorisdely without seeking permission from JMC were demolished at Qasim Nagar Jammu by pressing men and machinery into service.
The drive was conducted by a team led by Joint Commissioner Administration, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Rajesh Sharma along with Chief Enforcement Officer, Rajesh Gupta, Enforc-ement Officer, Kamni Kumar and Enforcement Staff.  The demolition drive was conducted with the help of police force from Bahu Fort Police Station.
Besides this, the team also foiled an attempt of encroachment of lane at Trikuta Nagar Extension by demolishing the Gate which was being erected by encroaching upon part of lane there.
The drive was launched on the directions of Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation  Ramesh Kumar.
The Jammu Municipal Corporation once again appealed to the general public to refrain from raising unauthorized constructions failing which the demolition/sealing of the unauthorized structure will take place.  Further it is also requested not to dump the building material  on road/lane side which causes obstruction to the public and also hindrance in the smooth flow of vehicular traffic.
