JLCS deputation submits memo to MoS Transport

JAMMU, Nov 30: A deputation of Jambu Lochan Civil Society (JLCS), Jammu today met Minister of State (MoS) Transport (independent charge), Sunil Sharma, and submitted a memorandum of demands.
The deputation demanded installation of speed governors in all the commercial vehicles, plying of smart buses in place of mini-buses in the State which are responsible for killing of hundreds of innocent people, clearing of all chocked rotaries of Jammu city where mini-buses are permanently parked thereby affecting the free flow of traffic and starting up of Ola and Uber cabs in the city.
Others issues taken up by the deputation included rashly driven buses and mini-buses using pressure horns, over charging  by Auto Rikshas, violation of traffic and transport laws by the mini-buses and buses by using high volume music and increasing number of seats in the vehicles with an intention to accommodate more passengers.
The deputation also demanded plying of superfast buses from Jammu to border areas of RS Pura, Arnia, Chamb and Ghagwal and strict action against mini-buses carrying highly objectionable words written on their vehicles like ‘Love Birds’, ‘Ashique’, ‘Lafange;, ‘Awara’, etc.
Karnal Singh, KS Katoch, Ranjeev Ahluwalla, Veena rathore, Rajesh Uppal and many others were part of the deputation.
