JAMMU, Dec 27: While exposing some corrupt officials of creating hurdles in the implementation of Government policies, the Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) has urged upon the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to hold probe into the matter and take stern action against such officials.
In an urgent communication sent to the Chief Minister, the Jammu Chamber president,  Rakesh Gupta highlighted the issue  relating to non-implementation of Government policies. He claimed that the administrative system is on the verge of collapse due to high headedness and corrupt practices by few people enjoying seat of power and who feel that they are not answerable to the Government.
“We would like to draw your kind attention towards the Industrial Policy   2016 which was duly approved by the State Cabinet wherein, the local industries were to get benefit up to 15% of price preference in all Government purchases but the same is totally being disowned and not adhered to by the procurement wing of the Power Development Department (PDD) resulting in almost closure of many industrial units in the State.
He also referred to the order passed by the J&K High Court restraining the procurement wing of PDD from placing any orders ignoring the said clause of price preference as stated in the Industrial Policy- 2016.
The Chamber sought the intervention of the Chief Minister into the matter and also requested to order a high level enquiry so that the erring officers are taken to task whose actions are not only forcing the local Industrial units to shutdown but also bring a bad name to the  governance system under the present regime.
