KATHUA, Sept 28: Lashing out at its critics for alleging that Jammu region continues to face discrimination in PDP-BJP coalition also, Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh today said that during the last three years of Modi Government at Centre and PDP-BJP coalition in the State the Jammu region got its due share in all spheres.
Addressing a function in connection with laying of foundation stone of the district office of the party here, today, Nirmal Singh said that those who are spreading canards in this regard are in a great desperation after losing power.
Besides, Kathua foundation stone of the eight district offices were laid by the senior party leaders and ministers simultaneously today.
Nirmal, while highlighting the policies and programmes of both BJP led NDA Government at Delhi and coalition in the State said that POJK refugees were sanctioned compensation and direct benefit was given to them as money goes directly in their account and the pending cases are also being verified so that the amount can be deposited in their account too.
He said the Government is at its best trying to solve the problems of Kashmiri migrants and “we are committed for their rehabilitation with honour and dignity in their native place”.
On the controversy created over the holiday on Maharaja’s birthday, the Deputy Chief Minister said BJP has always championed this issue and party is trying at its best that the September 23 be declared as State Holiday. “Our Ministers will not only raise the issue in State Cabinet but press it forcefully”, he added.
He while criticizing the opposition NC and Congress for misleading the  people on this issue asked them “let the Congress State president G M Mir or NC president Dr Farooq Abdullah and its working president Omar Abdullah come with a public statement favouring State holiday on Maharaja’s birthday instead of hoodwinking people of the State”.
“Those who failed to install a statue of Maharaja in last 70 years are today pointing fingers on BJP”. He also cautioned the people against the anti national and vested elements and said the Rs 80,000 crore package sanctioned by Prime Minster Narendra Modi for the State will be enhanced further by the Centre as allotment of funds is no problem.
Dr. Nirmal Singh was accompanied by Dr. Narinder Singh, general secretary of the party MLAs Rajiv Jasrotia, Jeevan Lal & Kuldeep Kumar, Arvind Gupta, Ch. Chatur Singh, Th. Ranjit Singh, Vijay and others.
Laying the foundation stone of party district office at Samba BJP State president Sat Sharma said that militancy will be wiped out from Kashmir Valley soon as the terrorists are under constant pressure from security forces and are on run now.
He said after the raids were conducted by NIA and since the “Operation All Out” was started militants are hiding for their safety and security. Now Pakistan is also in great desperation and this is the reason that it has started attack on security forces families.
Besides, Sharma, Ashok Koul, general secretary (Org) Minister of Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga, Parmod Kapahi, Ajat Shatru, Dr. Davinder Manyal, (MLA) and Rakesh Gupta were present while laying the foundation stone.
Foundation stones were laid at Udhampur, Rajouri, Reasi, Doda, Ramban and Poonch also.
