UDHAMPUR, Apr 13: In two separate incidents, a teenaged girl ended her life by consuming poisonous substance while a young woman immolated herself under mysterious circumstances, here today.
According to Police reports, Rajni Devi (33), wife of Ashok Kumar of Tanal Ramnagar, immolated herself at the house of her in-laws. She used kerosene oil for the self-immolation under mysterious circumstances.
Family members rushed her to Sub District Hospital Ramnagar, where doctors referred her to GMC Hospital Jammu where she succumbed to her burn injuries.
Ramnagar Police has registered the case and started investigation.
Meanwhile, in a separate case, one Razia (16), daughter of Gani of Darsu Roun Domail Udhampur; consumed some poisonous substance under mysterious circumstances at her house late last night. Family members took her to District Hospital Udhampur, where she was referred to GMC Hospital Jammu. Despite hectic efforts by the doctors, she did not respond to the treatment and died today.
Cause behind the extreme step could not be ascertained while Police has registered the case for further investigation.
