Hardcore criminal arrested with country made pistol, live cartridges

JAMMU, Sept 22: A hardcore criminal has been arrested from Hakkal Morh area, falling under the jurisdiction of Chatha Police Post.
As per police sources, based on specific inputs, a team from Chatha Police Post laid a naka at Hakkal Morh and asked a pedestrian to stop for checking, as he was moving under suspicious circumstances.
The pedestrian tried to ran away, but the cops intercepted him after a brief chase.
During checking, police recovered one country made pistol and 11 live cartridges from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Ashwani Kumar, son of Ashok Kumar, a resident of Langerial, RS Pura.
A case under FIR Number 179/17 under Section 3/25 Arms Act has been registered against the accused at Police Station Satwari and investigation started.
It is pertinent to mention that the arrested person was also involved in attempt to murder and NDPS Act cases registered with Police Station Satwari.
Police team led by Incharge Chatha Police Post SI Sandeep Charak and assisted by HC Satpal Sharma, HC Mohinder Singh, SgCt Harvinde, Constable Gurdeep Singh and SPO Anil Kumar made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Satwari Inspector Manjeet Singh, SDPO South Mohammad Rafiq Manhas and SP South Sandeep Choudhary.
