Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Nov 18: Ikkjutt Jammu chairman Ankur Sharma today impressed upon the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir State to invoke his constitutional authority and withdraw the dangerous J&K State Lands (Vesting of ownership to the occupants) Act, 2001, popularly known as Roshni Act, to defeat the Jihadi war in the form of demographic invasion of Jammu.
Addressing press conference Ankur Sharma welcomed the recent directions of the Double Bench of J&K High Court prohibiting any of the beneficiaries of the contentious Roshni Act from carrying out transaction of all types.
Ankur Sharma said that the IkkJutt Jammu’s Shankhnaad Maha Adhiveshan has clearly underlined the fact that demographic invasion of Jammu and Ladakh is the longer arm of the Jihadi war unleashed in J&K and can lead to the collapse of resistance against Islamic separatism in the State. He demanded that there is an imperative and urgent necessity to retrieve the illegally occupied State lands in all districts of Jammu and Ladakh province, especially Bhatindi, Sunjawan, Sidhra, Majeen along the national highways, railway tracks, River bed, nallahs and around the Army cantonments.
He warned that any dithering in stopping the systematic demographic invasion of Jammu and Ladakh will constitute as abetment with anti-national designs in the State.
IkkJutt Jammu chairman said that court order restraining and prohibiting the use of the lands as well as property regularized under Roshni Act is an indicator of the seriousness of the issue and it should activate the present Govt under the Governor Satya Pal Malik to have a comprehensive review of the entire policy that led to the passing of the Roshni Act. He said the developments which led to the evolution of Roshni Act are essentially subversive and a critical subject for even the NIA to probe.
Ankur Sharma said there is dire necessity to understand the link between Islamist terrorism in the State and the demographic invasion of Jammu. Both are the integral part of a destabilization process in the State spearheaded by Pakistan as well as Pan-Islamic forces, he added and further said that Government of India so far has hesitated to recognize this reality and as such has remained almost paralyzed to respond to the situation.
