JAMMU, Mar 16: All J&K Guru Ravi Dass Sabha members have appealed to the Deputy Commissioner, Jammu to intervene in holding free-and fair elections of the Guru Ravi Dass Sabha.
Addressing  a  press conference   here today, Madan Lal Banalia, general secretary, All J&K Guru Ravi Dass Sabha (Regd), Jammu said that the previous elections of the Sabha was held under the supervision of Divisional Commissioner Jammu, whose results were declared on April 12, 2015.  Piran Ditta was elected as president and  he ( Madan Lal Banalia), as general secretary. Oath taking ceremony was held on April 19, 2015.    The outgoing president, Vijay Lochan handed over the charge of the Sabha and all keys were handed over to Piran Ditta in present of Chairman Election Board, Mohan Lal Hans.
The elected president constituted working committee without consulting general secretary as mandated by the constitution.  This committee was even stayed by the court. Piran Ditta expelled him illegally  and nominated one Raj Kumar as senior general secretary. Raj Kumar  is defeated  general secretary  and he can not  be nominated beyond the provisions of the constitution of the Sabha. He alleged that Piran Ditta has started membership drive which is also illegal and now, he is going to hold elections illegally and claiming that he has set up Election Board of the Sabha. Banalia alleged that Piran Ditta has not given details of the finances to the Sabha. His election Board is invalid and a petition in this regard has been submitted to the Divisional Commissioner Jammu to stop his illegal process.
Banalia further urged upon the  Deputy Commissioner Jammu Dr Simrandeep Singh  and the Divisional Administration to intervene into the matter and hold free and fair elections under their control after constitution of Election Board.  For any sort of law and order problem, the District Administration will be responsible as majority of the Sabha members are deadly against this illegal practice.
PC Atri, Tara Chand, Banarsi Dass, Tarsem Lal, DD Shivgotra, Capt Tarsem Lal and Krishan Lal also spoke on the occasion.
