GRP Katra starts helpline for pilgrims

KATRA, Mar 27: GRP Katra has started a helpline service at Railway Station Katra for the convenience of the pilgrims who visit Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine here.
Ranjit Singh Sambyal, SSP Railways Katra, inaugurated the helpline service in the presence of SDPO Railways Katra/Udhampur, Station Superintendent, Police officers and officials of Railways Department.
SSP Railways Katra said that this service has been started on the eve of Navratra festival with a view to help and provide necessary assistance to the pilgrims and passengers in case of theft of their belongings or inconvenience faced by them. In order to provide immediate assistance to the lady passengers against incidents of molestation or eve-teasing etc, special lady staff of Police has also been deployed at Railway Station Katra, he added.
On the occasion, a number of hoardings and banners were displayed with the contact numbers of the officers of the GRP Katra, who could be contacted by the general public if they want to seek any type of assistance by the GRP Katra.
Same helpline service has also been launched at Railway Sub Division Udhampur.
