FMHWs continue protest, submit memo to DC

JAMMU, May 18: Female Multipurpose Health Workers (FMHWs) continued their district wise protest dharnas for release of their pending salaries, on 4th day today.
The main protest dharna was held here today at Madam Shashi Bala Memorial Park under the supervision of Sushil Sudan, president, Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF).
The protesting Female Multipurpose Workers raised slogans in support of their demands. Vinod Sharma, secretary general of JKMEF appealed the State Government to resolve all the problems of Female Multipurpose Workers.
Neelam Kumari, general secretary, FMHWs’ Welfare Association, in her address appealed the higher authorities to redress the issue of salaries of Female Multipurpose Health Workers which was due for more than a year’s time and its permanent solution on war footing otherwise the protests will be exaggerated.
Later, the protesting employees in the shape of procession moved towards DC office Jammu, where JKMEF president, Sushil Sudan, submitted a memorandum highlighting demands of FMHWs to DC Jammu, who gave a patient hearing to the demands of the protesting FMPHWs and enquired about the matter telephonically from CMO Jammu. The DC also assured to forward the memorandum submitted by them, to Divisional Commissioner, Jammu.
Simultaneously, the protest dharnas were held at all district headquarters of Jammu Province under the leadership of JKMEF/FMHW Welfare Association leaders.
