Farooq lays foundation of Solar Power Project in Sainik School Manasbal

MANASBAL, Oct 13:  Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Dr Farooq Abdullah today laid the foundation of 150 Kilo watt Solar Power Project in the campus of Sainik School Manasbal which will cater the electricity need of the campus. The project would be completed at a cost of Rs. 4.05 crore and made functional by December this year.
Dr. Farooq also laid foundation of multi-purpose hall in the campus which will be come up at the cost of Rs. 2 crore.
Later, Dr. Farooq witnessed the Annual day function of the School and took salute at march past presented by the school students and NCC cadets. On this occasion, he wished Sainik School Manasbal to touch the new heights and strive for producing best talent for leading the nation in future. On the demand of school administration he said, that he will take up the issue of boundary wall of the school campus with concerned authorities.
On the occasion, students of the School presented various programmes including Mass PT, Dare devil show and long jump Bharatyam besides, various colourful and mesmerizing cultural programmes were presented by the school children which were highly appreciated and applauded by the audience.
Legislators, Sheikh Ghulam Rasool and Ali Mohammad Bhat, Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Showkat Ahmad Mir, Director School Education, Kashmir, Mohammad Shafi Rather, S P Ganderbal, CEO JKEDA, and large number of students and parents were also present on the occasion.
Principal, Sainik School Manasbal, Aijaz Ahmad Kakroo while delivering his welcome address expressed his gratitude to Dr Farooq Abdullah for providing Solar power project to the school which is first of its kind in the country established in any educational institute. The Magazine of school “Manasbal” was also released on the occasion.
