Dhar Mahanpur residents hold protest in front of SDM office

KATHUA, Jan 29: The inhabitants of Dhar Mahanpur held a demonstration in front of SDM Office Basholi today in protest against the failure of the authorities to renovate the local roads and solve the other problems of the area.
The protestors said that the Dhar Mahanpur being the tourist destination sans basic facilities including the service road. They accused the Government of ignoring the area totally as it sans the road connectivity as people of five Panchayats comprising of 25 villages are facing acute problems of power cuts, water scarcity and lack of educational facilities.
They said the schools have shortage of staff while the ration is not available at CAPD Depots.
They also submitted a memorandum to SDM Basholi Gurmeet Singh and Tehsildar Satya Paul.
The SDM assured them that he will convene the meeting of all departments of tehsil Basholi on February 7 with the representatives of the people from the area to sort out the problems.
