JAMMU, Sept 9: A deputation of JDA Housing Colony Welfare Association, Roop Nagar, Jammu led by its chairman, Uttam Deep Sharma, today met Chief Engineer, Public Health Engineering (PHE), Jammu and brought to his notice the shortage of water in the colony.
The Chief Engineer was told that the water is being supplied in the colony after three days and that too for a very short time. The deputation further told him that in many areas of the colony the water is being supplied through water tankers, as a scheme for laying out water pipes in sector 7, 8 and 9 of the Colony, which was approved by the Government lone time back, is yet to be implemented.
The deputation was assured by the Chief Engineer that instructions would be issued to regularize the supply of water in the Colony and work of laying fresh water pipes in uncovered areas, besides replacement of old supply lines in others sectors wherever required, would be taken up a s soon as the funds for the work are provided by the Government.
