JAMMU, Apr 19: Former minister and state president of NCP, Th Randhir Singh today demanded that Srinagar-Leh Highway should be declared as Kushok-Bakula Marg.
In a press statement here, the NCP leader suggested that on 100th birth anniversary of Late Bakula, the Government must declare Srinagar-Leh highway on his name, keeping in view his rich contributions for the State and particularly the people of Ladakh region. He has earned high respect among the towering leaders of Ladakh region.
He said not only this, a Postal Stamp should also be issued on his name as tribute to Late Bakula on his 100th birth anniversary.
Singh said Kushok Bakula Rinponche is considered as the architect of modern Ladakh. He congratulated twice Member Parliament Thupstan Chhewang who was the closest associate of Kushok Bakula and worked as his secretary in Mongolia.
