DDC asks employees to donate one day salary in Corpus Fund of DDMA

KISHTWAR, July 10: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana, who is also Chairman of District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) chaired the reviewed the preparedness of the Authority with heads of various departments and also revised the various committees during the meeting session.
DDC directed the officials to keep ready with all men and machinery to meet any kind of eventuality in the event of inclement weather or any disaster like situations.
Threadbare discussion was held on a number of issues ranging from establishment of full-fledged emergency operation centre, availability of necessary men and machinery, civil defence volunteers and preparation of District Disaster Management plan.
During the meeting, DDC reviewed the preparedness of Civil Defense, SDRF and Fire and Emergency Services in dealing with any kind of natural calamity. He stressed upon the rescue team to be prepared for any disaster.
Rana further urged upon all the officers to work with close coordination so that quick response is ensured in case of any eventuality. It was also decided in the meeting that mock drills will be conducted across the district.
DDC was informed that SDRF are on standby mode and it will be further augmented by personnel from police, Fire and Emergency Services and volunteers.
Meanwhile, DDC requested all the employees to donate one day salary as donation for raising the Corpus Fund to be disbursed among the disastrous victim families during any calamities.
ADC was also directed to open saving account for the Corpus Fund and circulate the account number among all officers and public.
Tehsildars were directed to identify the slide prone, flood prone and flash flood areas in their Tehsils and were also advised to establish Emergency Operation Centre during the disastrous period.
SSP Kishtwar Abrar Ahmed Chowdhary, ADDC Imam Din, ADC Kishori Lal, CPO Yasir Balwan, ACR Inderjeet Parihar, Red Cross Honorary Secretary Ali Asgar, volunteers of NCC, NSS of schools and other officers and officials including Army, CISF and CRPF participated in the meeting.
