SRINAGAR, May 24: Hundreds of dailwagers today staged a massive protest against State Government and in favour of their regularization demand here.
The dailywagers assembled here at Sher-e-Kashmir Park under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Casual Dailwagers’ Forum and staged massive protest against the Government. The protesters raised slogans like ‘we want justice’ and urged State Government to regularize their services.
The protesters reminded current dispensation of former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed’s promise of regularizing all dailywagers employed from year 1994. Later, the protesters later tried to march towards Civil Secretariat for ‘Gherao’ which however was foiled by police by resorting to cane charge and detained many of these protesting employees.
The protesters meanwhile threatened State-wide agitation if the Government doesn’t take steps to regularize their services in upcoming Budget Session of Assembly.
