Cultural Academy employees’ protest enters 5th day

JAMMU, Oct 10: The ongoing protest by the J&K Cultural Academy Employees Union entered into 5th day on Tuesday.
They are demanding immediate promotions/confirmations of all the employees who have been placed against the vacant posts and are eligible to be promoted against those positions.
While addressing the protesting employees, the union president Ramesh Singh demanded promotion of all the eligible employees and stressed that at least one representative from each cadre of the Academy, like Establishment, Editorial, Culture and Technical, should be involved while framing the new recruitment rules. The employees who do not have any career progression avenues should be provided with the running higher grades, he added.
The union leader also highlighted other grievances and demands of the Academy employees, who are struggling against disparities in the pay grade of the some posts like Sales Assistant in the same Department for Kashmir and Jammu division, huge shortage of the employees in the Academy especially in the Divisional Office, Jammu, undue benefit to the blue eyed,
Ramesh Singh reiterated to continue the ongoing protest till all their demands are conceded by the concerned authorities.
