JAMMU, Sept 17: Chamber of Traders Federation has appealed the State Government to extend the date of filing the quarterly returns of VAT by at least three months.
In a meeting, held under the chairmanship of president Yash Paul Gupta, the CTF explained that a lot of reconciliation has to be done between the businessmen from various areas before filing the returns and this was not possible to complete the work due to the prevailing situation on account of floods in Kashmir, Reasi, Poonch, Rajouri and Udhampur.
The CTF members also urged that the dates of filing the annual returns and revised returns may also be extended similarly.
Yash Paul Gupta informed that he had a talk with the Commissioner Commercial Taxes J&K regarding the extension in the last date of filing various VAT returns.
