Copper futures rise 0.29% on spot demand

NEW DELHI, Nov 13: Copper prices went up by 0.29 per cent to Rs 445.70 per kg in futures trade today as speculators raised bets amid pick-up in demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in November edged up by Rs 1.30, or 0.29 per cent, to Rs 445.70 per kg in a business turnover of 642 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in far-month February next year was trading higher by Re 1, or 0.22 per cent, to Rs 451.30 per kg in 2 lots.
Analysts said widening of positions by participants due to uptick in demand from consuming industries in the physical market mainly attributed the rise in copper prices in futures trade. (PTI)
