SURAT (GUJARAT), Nov 28: In a cryptic reference to the Congress Vice President who campaigned for his party in Bhavnagar and other parts of Gujarat today, Union Minister and BJP Election “Sah-Prabhari”, Dr Jitendra Singh said, “Congress is making our task easier in Gujarat and after each campaigning spree by Rahul Gandhi, the BJP emerges stronger than before”.
Responding to media persons’ query regarding a tweet by Rahul Gandhi this morning in which he had made fun of BJP, Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, and written a mock poetry to target the BJP leaders, Dr Jitendra Singh said, this is a narrative usually used in College – level debates. It is, therefore, for the people for Gujarat and in fact, the people of entire country, to judge whether this is the kind of narrative they would expect from a person who likes to be described as Prime Minister-in-waiting.
Having exhausted their ammunition to target BJP on issues ranging from GST and Patidars to Bullet Train, Dr Jitendra Singh said, the Congress leaders are now, in desperation, resorting to High School level stanzas of poetry in the hope that this might impress the voter. The point, however, being missed is that Gujarat of 2017, and infact India of 2017, comprises voters who are young, intelligent and analytic, and therefore, get antagonised by a discourse which is devoid of reasoning, he added.
Meanwhile, Dr Jitendra Singh expressed confidence about the efficient booth composition and booth management of BJP at the ground level. He said, it is a novel development in Indian democracy that, this time, groups of students from different universities and also some of the inquisitive media persons are coming over to Surat and other places, just to study and understand the election management pattern of BJP.
Dr Jitendra Singh said, the election offices of different Assembly constituencies in Surat have been fully set up and the candidates are carrying on their election campaign with absolute support from cadres.
