RAJOURI, Dec 12: Member Legislative Council (MLC) Vibodh Gupta convened review meeting of Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department and Power Development Department (PDD).
During the meeting, MLC directed the PHE Department and PDD officers to complete the sanctioned works under different Government schemes in stipulated time frame so that the people could be able to take benefits out of these schemes.
Taking a serious note of the prevailing power and water supply scenario in the Rajouri town, Vibodh asked the officers concerned to immediately complete the works which are already being sanctioned for the last three to six months under the different Central and State sponsored schemes.
MLC also directed the executing agencies to take these works on priority basis so that the amount sanctioned under such schemes should not be lapsed and the sufferings of the people can be minimized to a larger extent.
While reviewing the power infrastructure of the Rajouri town, Vibodh directed the PDD officials to speed-up the up gradation and augmentation work of different power supply schemes and transformers across the district.
He also asked them to replace the existing conductors which are in very bad shape and are also posing a great threat to the lives of local residents.
While interacting with the officials of PHE Department, MLC directed the officials to find the loopholes which are becoming the hurdles in the implementation of the water supply schemes across the district in general and those which were sanctioned exclusively for Rajouri town in particular.
Among others present were BJP district president Dinesh Sharma, former district president Bharat Bhushan Vaid, ex-municipal committee Chairman Rajinder Gupta, Vikas Dutta, Sanjay Dutt, etc.
