JAMMU, May 16: The State Government has accorded sanction for constitution of a committee to look into all aspects and issues connected with the revision of the rent of the Waqf properties.
The committee, headed by Administrative Secretary, Revenue Department, shall review the whole matter of revision of rent in terms of the prevailing market rates and by taking all relevant factors into account in the respective location. It shall submit its recommendations within a period of one month.
Er Khalid Muzaffar (Member J&K Muslim Waqf Board), Prof Mushtaq Qureshi (Dean, Islamic University of Science & Technology and Member of the Waqf Board), Chief Executive Waqf Board, representative of the Finance Department (to be nominated by the Finance Department and Executive Engineer PW(R&B) will be Member of the committee and Secretary J&K Muslim Waqf Board will be its Member Secretary.
