REASI, Jan 28: A class 8th student committed suicide by hanging himself in a forest area near his residence at village Dhiyote in Ransoo areas of Reasi district, last evening.
The deceased was identified as Inderjeet Singh (14), son of Sher Singh.
Reports said that after attending the school yesterday, he reached home in the early evening and then left to nearby forest area. As he did not return home even after sunset, the family members searched for the boy, who was later found hanging from a tree under mysterious circumstances.
Cause behind the extreme step could not be ascertained while Police has registered a case in this connection for further investigation.
