Central, State Govts fail to rehabilitate migrants: JTC

JAMMU, Sept 27: A joint meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) J&K was held under the chairmanship of  Shadi Lal Pandita, president JTC/ SKF J&K at Jagti Nagrota today. The meeting was attended by all members and office bearers of both the organisations.
The meeting expressed  grave concern over the failure of State and Central Government in return and rehabilitation of the Kashmiri migrants  in Valley .
It demanded rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandit community in three Satellite townships brought up at one particular safe and secure place in Kashmir valley for rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandit migrants of districts Baramulla, Kupwara, Bandipura in one township, migrants of districts Srinagar, Ganderbal and Budgam in another township and migrant Pandits from districts of Anantnag, Pulwama, Shopian and Kulgam in another  township with reserving three Assembly seats for these three townships.
The meeting accused the State and Central Government for their failure in rehabilitating the Kashmiri Pandit Community in Valley . It demanded enhancement of cash relief for relief holders Rs.10,000/- to Rs.25,000,construction of 6000 quarters for migrants employees serving in Kashmir valley, compensation to the tune of Rs. 1.00 crore to each migrant family for the losses suffered by them during past 28 years of migration due to damages to their properties in Kashmir valley approximately Rs. 4.00 lakh per year, implementation of Prime Ministers employment package for Kashmiri Pandit migrant youth by filling up all remaining posts, removal of encroachments made on the properties of temples, religious shrines and private properties of Kashmiri migrant Pandits community and grant of minority status of Pandit Community of Jammu and Kashmir State.
