Cardamom futures higher 1.39 pc on spot demand

NEW DELHI, Apr 22:  Cardamom prices rose by 1.39 per cent to Rs 986.10 per kg in futures trade today as speculators indulged in enlarging positions amid restricted arrivals.
Further, firm demand in the spot market supported the upside.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange cardamom for June delivery surged Rs 17.60, or 1.39 per cent, to Rs 986.10 per kg in a business volume of 315 lots.
The spice for delivery in May gained Rs 11.70, or 1.24 per cent, to Rs 954.60 per kg in a business volume of 959 lots.
Market analysts said rising spot and exports demand against restricted arrivals from producing regions, mainly influenced cardamom prices at futures market. (PTI)
