The recent compulsory bio-metric attendance order issued by the Government has been welcomed by the people of the State. The present dispensation in the State exhibits the sincere designs that the Government wants to execute for the welfare of the people. Who can deny this fact that absenteeism in the Government Deptts has caused great resentment among the people? People in general do face disappointment while pursuing their cases which stand unattended for months together. Neither any sort of accountability nor was any transparency in the officialdom of the State. At some occasions proxy would be detected while visiting in the offices for some service. Since the bio-metric attendance system has been ordered the scenario with regard to regularity has tremendously improved. The employees are now punctual and the work culture is improving. It has been observed that public grievances are addressed and attended. The attendance of the employees in Civil Secretariat and in other offices outside has risen from 45 percent to 80 percent now. The bio-metric attendance report is being submitted to Governor Secretariat on daily basis for information through I-A Department. This renewed focus of the present Government under the rule of Governor will kindle new hopes and aspirations among the people of the State.
