BDA organizes tour to promote tourism

BHADERWAH, Apr 17: Bhaderwah Development Authority (BDA) organised a three days tour for leading tour operators of Katra to create mass awareness about new areas of tourism and pilgrim importance.
Around 30 leading tour operators and hoteliers from Katra representing tours and travel associations and hotels, besides officials of JKTDC and BDA were part of the FAM tour which was primarily aimed at to promote better understanding among tour operators of Katra with local stake holders and also to give a practical shape to divert Shri Vaishno Devi pilgrims to various locations of Bhaderwah valley.
During their three days stay at Bhaderwah, The FAM tour participants visited snow filled meadows of Padri, Khani—top on inter state Bhaderwah-Chamba Road, Guldanda and Thanthera on Bhaderwah-Basholi road and Jai Ghati. They also visited ancient temples like Gupt Ganga, Vasak-dera, Chandi Mata Temple Chinote and historic Vasuki Nag temple Gatha.
“Tourism season is gradually picking up and to give it a boost, we organised a FAM tour for the main tour operators of Katra. Besides taking them to the various location to tap its full potential during this season, we also organised an interaction session of the visiting tour operators with the local stake holders for better understanding among them”, said, CEO BDA, Bal Krishan.
