MENDHAR, Aug 22: About half a dozen villages and hamlets in Balakote block of district Poonch are without power supply as two electric transformers of the area are lying out of order.
The villagers of the area alleged that for the last about three weeks, this area has been plunged into darkness. The concerned field staff was intimated about the matter immediately but till today, they have failed to replace damaged transformers and restore power supply. The people of the area have been facing lot of hardships due to power failure. They alleged that transformers are repaired at Surankote Sub Division of PDD but they have not been shifted there till today. They said that people will not pay the bills as PDD staff has failed to provide services.
