Avoid war, dialogue only way out: Congress

Excelsior Correspondent
SRINAGAR, Sept 29:  Pradesh Congress Committee today stated that war cannot be the solution to any problem as every issue can be settled through peace and reconciliation process. The party said that dialogue is the only way forward to settle issues on both internal and external front.
Addressing Congress functionaries here today, PCC chief G A Mir blamed both  Centre and State Govts for the current unrest and expressed anguish over the deteriorating situation. He expressed deep anguish over the current unrest in the Valley and castigated  Govt for the deep alienation being found among the people. He said the  mis-governance and misrule by the present Govt has alienated the people leading to the deteriorating situation in the Valley.
He said people of J&K had not voted to see the political drama being staged by the coalition partners for the sake of coming into power after enacting different stories, but they had voted for peace and prosperity. The politics of exploitation on the part of PDP and BJP remains the cause behind the anguish and agony being found among the people. The people in valley and other parts of the State feel betrayed and backstabbed by the Coalition partners who have secured votes to defeat each other, as a result, there is a deep alienation among the common people of all the three regions.
PCC Chief said the current unrest has brought death and destruction in the Valley, the fire of which has spread to other parts of the State. The tall claims made by PDP- BJP about the restoration of peace seems to be a distant dream as the situation is completely out of their control, besides there is no sign of improvement visible on the ground. He said the unabated civilian killings and use of excessive force on civilians has vitiated the atmosphere to a largest extent, thereby, causing huge damages to life property in the Valley, but still, no serious efforts are being made to ensure safety of the people by the Govt, he said.
Promiennt among those present included former PCC president Peerzada Mohd Syed, former minister Taj Mohi-ud-Din, GN  Monga-MLC, Amreen Badre, KK Amla, Farooq Andrabi, MLA- Usman Majeed, ML Mohd Amin Bhat, ML Gulzar Ahmad Wani,  Khemlata Wakhloo, Raman Mattoo, Hilal Ahmad Shah, Nazir Ahmad Khan, Shameema Iqbal,  Abdul  Gani Khan, Abdul Qayoom Shah and Aftab Ahmad Beigh.
