REASI, Feb 6: Army in collaboration with district administration organized a one-day “Employment Fair” here today at Mini Stadium which was inaugurated by GOC U Force, Major General Rohit Gupta, who was the chief guest.
Deputy GOC, Brig JS Shekhawat, Commanding Officer 61RR Bn, Col Rahul Arya, ADC Babu Ram, SSP Reasi and other officers from civil, Army and police besides local people, students including NCC cadets were present on the occasion.
Over 34 departments including the Army and police set up their individual stalls to display their activities and employment schemes meant for the people in general and youth in particular. The local people and guests evinced keen interest in the fair.
The aim of the fair was to make the local people well abreast with latest employment schemes of the various departments through which they get job opportunities.
The chief guest accompanied by officers also inspected all stalls and took feedback from various stalls’ setters on scope of the welfare schemes. While interacting with them, he also asked them to encourage women folks for employments in different fields and added that their coverage in employments is an essential ingredient for evolving a prosperous and stable society.
He further said that the people in villages are not fully aware about the nature of employment opportunities that are available within their region and to abridge this gap, employment fairs and awareness camps play pivotal role.
Earlier, the chief guest also distributed solar lamps to the poor people. A cultural programme of local songs was also performed on the occasion in which local artists presented a captivating presentation of skits.
