All outgoing trains delayed due to blockade at Punjab

JAMMU, Sept 20: All outgoing trains from Jammu after 6 pm were delayed by about two to three hours or more due to protests at various places in Punjab by the supporters of Dera Sacha Sauda protesting the ban on the movie Messenger-2.
Reports said due to continued protests by the supporters of the organisation at different railway stations in Punjab, all outgoing trains after 6 pm were held up at Jammu, Udhampur and Katra Railway Stations.
The trains started leaving the three major Railway Stations of Jammu, Udhampur and Katra after receiving message from the authorities in Punjab that the protesters have cleared the railway tracks. The first train, Pooja Express, left Jammu Railway Station around 9 pm i.e. by a delay of about three hours.
Rest of the outgoing trains from Jammu, Udhampur and Katra Railway Stations were also delayed by two to three hours but all the trains left Jammu by the midnight tonight.
“No train had to be cancelled,’’ sources said.
The incoming trains to Jammu, Udhampur and Katra reached well in time during morning and afternoon but the trains, which had to arrive here this evening, were delayed due to blockade of railway stations at different places in Punjab, sources said but added that all incoming trains had reached three major destinations by tonight.
Sources said initially the Railways received a message at 6 pm today that all outgoing trains from Jammu should be cancelled due to blockade of railway stations in Punjab but at about 7.30 pm they got a call seeking restoration of train traffic.
The trains started leaving Jammu, Udhampur and Katra by 9 pm.
