Ahmadiyya Muslim community organizes Peace Symposium

JAMMU, Feb 18: Ahmadiyya Muslim community in Jammu organized its 5th Annual Peace Symposium, here today on the theme of “Justice in an unjust world” with its abiding motto of “Love for all Hatred for none”.

A large number of prominent citizens of Jammu, including academicians, religious leaders, social activists, bureaucrats and a majority of young professionals and students participated in the said function.
The program was presided over by Sheeraz Ahmad, Executive Director of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and Prof R D Sharma, Vice Chancellor University of Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion whereas Prof V K Kapoor, Vice Chancellor Raffles University, senior Congress leader Sham Lal Sharma and   Chief Spokesman BJP were the guests of honour.
The religious scholars, including Mahant Rameshwar Dass,   S K Jain, Mastnath Yogi State president Janta Dal and Moulana Aleem Ahmad Aftab graced the occasion as special guests. Dr Arun Manhas ADC Jammu and   Pradeep Dutta, Bureu Chief Times Now, shared the presidium.
The program commenced with the recitation of Holy Quran.  Thereafter a documentary on the initiatives of Ahmadiyya Muslim community regarding establishment of global peace was shown to the audience. In the documentary, His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad Sahib was shown urging the world leaders at large to come on one platform in order to save humanity in the present scenario. He further said that the world today is passing through very turbulent times. “Being a global community and a purely Islamic organization with its firm objective to establish global peace, we consider our first and foremost duty to guide the world towards peace because Islam is a religion of peace. The very meaning of Islam is peace and harmony,” he stressed and revealed that the purpose of Islam is to teach man the ways of attaining peace, both with himself and his creator.
All the speakers appreciated the initiatives of Ahmadiyya Muslim community Jammu for organizing such peace programs here continuously. They stressed that all religions teach peace and love for each other.
On the occasion, a Dogri translation of Holy Quran was also released by the distinguished guests on the dais.  The organizing committee also honoured the invited guests.
The program was conducted by Gohar Hafeez Fani and Moulana Mohammad Yousuf Anwar presented formal vote of thanks.  Mubashir Ahmad Mundashi coordinated the program.
