Adultery is no crime

Sir,
Making adultery no crime, is indigestible as it goes against traditional and cultural values which have been here since the dawn of civilisation. The institution of marriage thrives and lasts on the factors like austerity, chastity, loyalty, faithfulness, sacrifice and unfailing love and regards between a husband and wife.
The sooner any of mentioned factor disappears or start decaying, the institution of marriage fails to the extent of divorce. What has necessitated enactment of such a law must be on sound reasons in the eyes of law. But a common man feels at a loss as to why and under what compelling circumstances, age long traditional values have been disturbed. Moral degradation is already unfathomable as can be seen from the crime graph with regard to women, moral transgression is a serious flaw in any society. Whole Lanka was burnt and millions of warriors were put to sword due to a simple act of immorality by Ravana. It goes without saying that the act tends towards westernisation of our culture.
