JAMMU, Jan 8: Janipur police arrested six gamblers along with stake money of Rs 12,000 from Lakar Mandi area.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Janipur Police Station conducted raid in Lakar Mandi area and apprehended six gamblers along with Rs 12,000 stake money. Rs 3100 were also recovered during personal search of the gamblers.
The arrested gamblers have been identified as Dadu Ram, son of Mukand Ram, Badrika Nishad, son of Tikari Nishad and Santosh Sahoo, son of Sita Ram Sahoo, all resident of Chatterpur Madhya Pradesh, at present Mandir Morh Roop Nagar, Chander Kant, son of Gurain Kant of Chatterpur Madhya Pradesh, at present Lakar Mandi, Vivesh Jaghrey, son of Dev Lal and Rajin Yadhoo, son of Yogeshwer Yadhoo, both residents of Chatterpur Madhya Pradesh, at present Indira Vihar, Old Janipur Jammu.
A case under Section 13 Gambling Act has been registered against them at Janipur Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Janipur SI Bimal Indu made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Jammu Raj Pal Singh Manhas and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar.
