47010 candidates to appear in Combined Services Preliminary Examination

JAMMU, Mar 14: About 47000 candidates are set to appear in Combined Competitive Examination this weekend. This was revealed by Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission Latief-u-Zamaan Deva while reviewing the arrangements for the upcoming exams with Deputy Commissioners of various districts.
Commission is conducting Preliminary Examination on March 19 for 277 posts referred to it by the State Government for direct recruitment in Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Services, Police Services and Accounts Services.
Deva said contrary to the past, this time examination centres have also been created at Anantnag, Baramulla, Doda, Rajouri, Leh, Kargil enabling candidates from far flung areas to participate in the examination without causing any inconvenience.
During the video conference, the Deputy Commissioners gave details about the arrangements made by them in conformity with the instructions of the Commission for the smooth conduct of the examination which includes the specific duties to be performed at various levels by the Custodians/ Coordinating Supervisors and others etc.
The examination will be conducted in two sessions one each commencing at 10 AM to 12 noon for General Studies and for optional from 02:00 PM to 04:00 PM.
The meeting was informed that Help-Desk/communication centres will be set up at the Headquarters of the examination centre for the convenience of the candidates and JKPSC will also make two communication centres functional- one each at Srinagar and Jammu
The Deputy Commissioners have been appointed as Custodian cum Co-ordinating Supervisors except Srinagar and Jammu where the concerned Deputy Commissioners are Co-ordinating Supervisors only as the job of custodian is performed by Public Service Commission itself in these two districts.
Two communication centres one each at Srinagar and Jammu has been established by the PSC and candidates from Kashmir have been asked to contact  Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat on 9906596470 and Gh. Nabi Paul on 9796562725 while Jammu candidates have been asked to contact Hakeem Gh. Jeelani on 9419010405, Javaid Punjabi on 9018920009 and Shahid Farooq on 9419720902 for any assistance.
Chairman said the detailed circular listing Dos and Dont’s for the candidates is being issued shortly which will be on website of Public Service Commission at www.jkpsc.nic.in.
